Creative writing is a talent that comes naturally to me judging by the rave reviews of my monthly column: Dyan's Motoring Snippets together with the numerous Test Drive Reports authored by yours truly in the islands only local motoring monthly magazine, Motor. My articles also appear in Esteem& LIVING - two lifestyle magazines. My article under the heading: TEA THE SAGA CONTINUES was received with much positive feedback.
My most recent essays to LMD - Sri Lanka's Voice of Business was chosen as it's Letter of the Month for both Sep '07 & Mar '08 captioned: 'FAST FAILING STATE' & 'ONE PEOPLE, ONE TONGUE'.
Written & Oral Communication is my forte. I won the Title of the "country's best English Speaker" when adjudged winner of All Island Best Speakers Contest in 1996; also selected as Toastmaster of Year in 1996 & 2003.

I took on w.e.f. 15 October 2008, the challenging position of CEO of the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka [IPMSL] an institute with a 50 year old history.
Professionally, I have been actively involved in senior management in the Plantations Industry spanning almost 40 years, to date after commencing my deep involvement with the tea bush/soil and its people way back in July 1969.
Former Manager of some of the islands largest tea plantations, viz Diyagama West, Hapugastenne, Houpe and renowned estates such as Pettiagalla, Hagalla Estate, Welimada Group, Dickwella, Warwick/Hakgalla Group, Passara Group etc.
Being an original-thinker, dynamic and results-oriented, established records in yields, prices & viability of ALL estates managed by me. Also one-time Agricultural Advisor/Visiting Agent & Manufacture Consultant for 15 large estates such as Enselwatte, Balangoda Group, Talangaha, Allerton, Palmgarden, Hugoland, Rye, Meddakanda, Miriswatte, Kuttapitiya & Tea/Rubber estate Wellandura.
I have from 30/04/07 retired from my position as General Manager [Low Country] of Kahawatte Plantations, a subsidiary of the MJF Group. As General Manager [Low Country] of Kahawatte Plantations I led by example, a team of professional planters successfully.
